Becky Heiner M.S., CPCFT, CPDT-KA, AKC CGC Evaluator & Fit Dog Instructor, is a Certified Professional Canine Fitness Trainer, Certified Pet Dog Trainer – Knowledge Assessed, a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), a former Barn Hunt and Teacup Dog Agility Association judge and owner of K9 Connections, L.L.C.
Becky is committed to providing the most effective solutions to her client’s dog training, fitness, and nutrition needs. Becky avidly pursues continuing education and professional development by attending seminars and workshops to keep current with dog training skills and techniques. She is currently earning certifications in Nutrition and Behavior Modification. Becky is passionate about combining her education and experience in human learning and development with the science of dog training to help her clients reach their goals.
Becky credits her passion for canine fitness to her dogs Hank, a Wire Fox Terrier who developed Degenerative Myelopathy (DM) – a non-curable degenerative disease of the spinal cord, and Katie, an English Cocker Spaniel, who herniated a disc resulting in Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD). Hank and Katie taught Becky to advocate for them and seek ways to a better quality of life for as long as possible for our canine companions. Because of her experience, she is a firm believer in proper warm-ups and strength and conditioning programs for all dogs, not just canine athletes.
When not helping dogs and their humans, Becky competes in agility and scentwork with her Wire Fox Terrier, Django and Hungarian Pumi, Tessa.
